Weekly Update 14th January 2021
The second week of January was another week of planning and preparations for the year to come. We are fully focused on making our goals come to fruition and that requires lots of planning. While this week we might not have as many updates as usual, we are still working relentlessly to keep up with our success.
Here’s what went on in the second week of January:
Genesis Transaction Day
We started the week by looking back to the first transaction ever broadcast over the Bitcoin network. It was sent by Satoshi Nakamoto to Hal Finney, on the 11th of January in 2009.
We bit on a charity-based NFT
This week, we bid on a charity-based NFT at a UNICEF Auction at the Crypto Finance Conference in St. Moritz. Representatives at the event also took part in the live bidding on Thursday at the Segantini Museum.
Looked back at some of last year’s highlights

Web 3.0 and its Significance
This week we looked at the emergence of Web 3.0 and its significance. Web 3.0 is a possible version of the internet grounded on public blockchains, the record-keeping system best known for enabling cryptocurrency transactions. The main appeal is that Web 3.0 would be decentralised as with cryptocurrency. This means that rather than access to the internet and its services being mediated by companies like Google, Apple or Facebook, the individual will themselves be able to own and govern sections of the internet.
