SiGMA & AIBC 2021 Recap
What an eventful week! SiGMA 2021 has exceeded our expectations. The annual iGaming conference in Malta facilitated networking with a lot of interesting people throughout 5 full days of meetups, exhibitions, conferences and networking events. We’re also thrilled that we won the KYC provider of the year award!
Monday 15th November
The opening day of SiGMA/AIBC week. We started off with a few of us going to the Long Hall to pick up some of the team’s passes, especially the team members that had just come in on the day, had a few drinks with a few clients and prospects and we made our way to the iGathering dinner at Palio’s, at the Westin Dragonara.
Tuesday 16th November
Our team wanted to take the first day of SiGMA by storm. We were able to connect with people from different industries and speak on the importance of RegTech and RiskTech platforms in centralised finance (CeFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). The interest in our products and services was significantly impressive even on the first day. Most of our merchandise was already depleted, along with some of the team’s business cards.
The day ended by attending the AIBC Awards 2021, where the team won the first award of the evening: KYC Provider of the Year. The team was ecstatic, before making our way back home to rest for the following day, a few members of the BizDev team found themselves at a networking drinks event at Tiffany’s at Portomaso.
Wednesday 17th November
We continued the success of this week by meeting people who are keen on automated compliance solutions and payment processing security, we found that outside of just the blockchain ecosystem being interested in our solution, a lot of people coming from iGaming operators and suppliers were visiting our stand interested in learning more about how we can enhance their compliance services.
We also attended another iGathering dinner that evening at Buffalo Bill’s in Portomaso, which was then followed up by the afterparty at Sky Club, St. Julian’s.
Thursday 18th November
On the final day of the SiGMA & AIBC conference, our project visionary, Jonathan Camilleri Bowman took part in a discussion on the latest development in payments along with individuals from Bankera, Accept Local, PXP Financial and Trustly. With over 100 people seated and listening to the panel, we consider that as a success.
In the evening, we also attended an exclusive investor ‘Shark Tank’-esque Goldfingr event at Villa Difesa in Madliena where we made some very good contacts, especially on the investor side.
Friday 19th November
We ended our busy week with a BBQ at a Villa in Santa Maria Estate, Mellieha along with other like-minded individuals.
